Merry (late) Christmas

Well, I've been away from blooger-verse for a few days because of Christmas and I've been under the weather. The family and I had a WONDERFUL Christmas. :) I wish I felt like writing about it but instead I'm going to share a few photos. Hopefully I'll be feeling better soon. Until then I'm gonna cuddle up with my new Colts snuggie (thanks to Momma Deb and Danny) and a Sunkist and veg out for a while.

First up is Christmas Eve @ Meme's (My Mom's):
KK and Ryan making piggies in a blanket

The boy's eating (Alan, Tristin and Ryan). I think T was trying to feed his eye.

Meme reading the Christmas story from the Bible

Nothing brings brothers together like the batcave!

Finally we were off to Nana and Papa's (Matt's mom and step-dad):

You have no idea how hard it was to get the close enough to take this picture.

ixl! no more asking for a dsi! This thing is AWESOME!

..... the best part? Nana and Papa got one for both boys! yippie!

The theme of the night for the adults was: "You must be cold". lol Matt, Jake, Uncle Rick and I all got NFL snuggies!!! I love mine! It's soooo fuzzy! :)

Brothers:)
As you can see we had a great Christmas. The best part by far was spending it together! I hope everyone out there in blogger-verse had a wonderful Christmas as well! (Now is it time for spring??? JOKING... well maybe a little bit)

Slickery Days

Well Friday was another snow day and Ryan and I very much enjoyed each other's company. We actually enjoyed each other's company all week. I didn't get as much done around the house as I normally would have with Ryan at school but that's ok because we had such a great time bonding! When we went outside Friday to "ice skate" again there was a light dusting of snow so it wasn't slickery anymore. That's ok though. Ryan's neighborhood buddie came over and the two of them swept a skating rink off in the parking lot and a strip of sidewalk. They had a blast running and sliding. :)

After all the cold weather the boys came inside for some hot chocolate and video games. Not long into the game time I heard Ryan say "Hey, lets go play with my toys!" Ahhhh! My heart be still. I was stoked! I couldn't believe my ears. I thought about sneaking up there and taking a pic to prove it but then decided if I did I might jinx it. So you'll have to use your imaginations. :)
Speaking of how AWESOME Ryan is... he can count to 100. And I'm not just talkin' "1, 2, skip a few, 99, 100". All the way to 100. Actually he can count to 110, but then he says 1,000..... 100,000. He thinks he can count to 100,000. I've tried to explain that's not how ya do it but I was the one that taught him "1, 2, skip a few, 99, 100" soooo I suppose it's kinda my fault.
We wrapped Friday up by going to get Tristin. It makes my heart so happy to have both them and Matt all under one roof. I'm so excited for Christmas this year. It will be the first we've all woken up on Christmas morning together. :)

Wowsers, they had some crazy eyes goin on this morning for breakfast! And they weren't even eating fruit loops.
After breakfast we went to get Ryan registered for Basketball, an early Christmas gift from Memaw. Then headed to Lowe's to finish Ryan's 3 part train project. Today they made an engine so it wasn't a big deal that T-man didn't have the rest of the pieces made.
Setting up

Ready to hammer

parts everywhere

Hammering away

tap tap tap

that's some serious concentration

cock your head to the left it works better ;)

I think Tristin thought he was making a gun?

The Finished Project
Judging by the pictures, Lowe's musta been the highlight of our day. :)

Where's the love?

I went through today excited about all the things I wanted to share on my blog. It has been a pretty exciting day. But, my day was slightly overshadowed by what I saw when I peeked my head out after dinner!
As you can see, our poor Frosty was beheaded!!! In the words of Stephanie Tanner: "How Rude!" Matt and Ryan worked very hard preparing Frosty and this is the thanks they get!

(You'll have to excuse the quality of these pictures, the snow falling coupled with it getting dark outside made it extremely difficult to get a good quality pic!)

And this is not the first time vandals have messed with our decorations. Our jack-o-lantern was smashed against our front door in October. :(
That's ok though! We won't let Scrooge and his gang of Grinchs spoil our spirit! We had a great day.

For Ryan it started this morning when he went to Lowes and built this cute little caboose. (it's a three part class, the rest will be made in the weeks to follow.

Then the post office delivered my Black Friday finds from Old Navy, which made me extremely happy. After my excitement dwindled a bit Matt and I set out to WallyWorld to do a little bit of shopping. We found the kids a few Christmas gifts and a few things for ourselves as well.
My favorite find was the newest installment of the Twilight Saga Eclipse!!! Wonderful as he is Matt insisted we get it for me! YES! Betcha can't guess who's watching Edward with her sweetie tonight!!! :)

And as we were walking away from the electronics section what did I find? Christmas pajama pants for the kiddos! Score! If you know me you know that I have been ranting and raving because I can't seem to find them ANYWHERE. I am insisting that this year we take a family photo Christmas Morning in front of the tree all decked out in our Christmas jammies. I don't want them to be matching but I wanna at least all be wearing some! (BTW, Matt's were delivered today from Old Navy... now to find Me some!)
Since I some how deleted from my Old Navy order the warm vest  for Matt we went looking for one for him... Well they didn't have any men's vests but instead we got him this nice warm coat since he's been layering three lighter weight coats. I do believe it looks pretty nice!
(I love the way the snow flakes are shining in the background like diamonds!)

A coat for Daddy wasn't the only warm thing we found... Momma got some new warm socks because my toes cannot seem to stay warm this year!

In this house it's pretty rare that we get to indulge in the material so when we do it's kinda nice. Here, life is about living and loving. It is truly the little things that mean the most. After dinner Ryan and I made Snow Cream! (Can you believe Matt has never had snow cream before???) This had to be the highlight of my night!

So now that Ryan is nestled sweetly in his bed, with visions of sugar plums dancing in his head, Momma and Daddy are going to wrap Christmas gifts. (Well, Daddy is going to wrap gifts, Mommy is probably going to make a big mess of paper and tape, because I am terrible at wrapping!)

One last photo before I go, Frosty and Ryan before Frosty was murdered!

(I think I found the love! ;))
